Sometimes I just look for pretty faces and cool images to make a new piece of art with. This is one of those found faces. I hope the lady does not mind

WHO CAN DO KIM-BOP BETTER THAN A FROG CAN ?

These were sketches for a potential restaurant  icon... a frog character  for a Japanese place.  I thought it was an odd choice, but after looking around a bit and a little searching on the internet, a lot of Japanese restaurants like frogs for their imagery.  It has to go back farther than Sushi shops for Americans.  The frog must be a symbol having to do with food or fortune or Japan.

THE 2nd ANNUAL JERRY LEIGH ART SHOW

There was some nice art and a really good turnout.  It ended up being just the people from work and they came up with some nice pieces.  There were also some fashion and photography entries as well as the usual paintings and sketches that you would expect.

UPCOMING ART SHOW

There is an upcoming art show planned at my new place of work. The talented artists whose skills are put to task creating artwork for various types of apparel, are getting together to make some real stuff happen. That explains the title of the show. We do tend to, day in, day out think about art as what the styleguide dictates... what sales will allow ... what the reports say is in fashion. We don't really know the true look of each other's personal style.
So, time to think OUTSIDE the STYLEGUIDE.

As you would expect... and as I have said before... I find out about things when they are on the way out, the band has broken up, the hype has fizzled out, everyone says "I liked them before they fell off", and it's time is done. And more to the point -- the novelty of a cute little kid singing with her pop can't last that long can it? not that you'd get sick of it, but the kid won't be a little kid anymore. and then THAT SH-- IS OVER, SON ! but if we're lucky

Up until that last post... this has been a very girly blog.
That's okay, because boys are icky.

 This is a bit of graphic design work for a church conference flyer.  I was put in contact with the sponsor of this WOW Conference, who needed a rush job.  I really didn't know what to with it , but I seemed to work it out o.k.   I like the results.

I made a T-shirt just for STAR WARS Celebration IV . This was my tribute to the Original Trilogy, and at the same time, my commentary on the newer SW:Trilogy. 

Jantre' (having not seen Episode I, II, and III at this point) wore the shirt like a... trooper.
